Tags

Tags are an easy way to organize, identify and search your Customers, Jobs, and Opportunities.

Creating tags

To create tags, follow the steps below:


  1. Navigate to Settings —> Tags (under Customizations).
  2. Choose between Work Tags or Contact Tags by selecting the tab at the top of the page. Work tags are applied to Opportunities and Jobs, while contact tags are applied to Customers.
  3. To add a new work tag, select the Add a new work tag button. Type in the desired name of the tag, then select the Add Work tag button to save.
  4. To add a new contact tag, select the Add a new contact tag button. Type in the desired name of the tag, then select the Add Contact tag button to save.
  5. Edit each tag by selecting the pencil icon to the right of the desired tag. Delete each tag by selecting the X icon to the right of the desired tag.

Using tags

Once a tag is created, you can go back to previous Customers, Opportunities, and Jobs to organize and categorize your Kickserv account.

To add a tag to a Customer, Opportunity, or Job:

  1. Navigate to the desired record.
  2. Select the Add tags button in the header.
  3. Begin typing in the name of the desired tag or choose from the drop down menu. Add as few or as many tags as you'd like.
  4. Select the I'm done button to exit out of the tagging menu.
  5. To remove a tag, select the X icon at the end of the tag.

Note: You cannot add a tag while creating a new record (Job, Opportunity, or Customer).


Filtering by tags

You can filter your Opportunities, Jobs, and Customers by tags.

To filter Opportunities by tags:

  1. From the Opportunities page, select any tag at the top of the page to use as a filter.
  2. Select the Apply button to show results.

To filter Jobs by tags:

  1. From the Jobs page, select any tag at the top of the page to use as a filter.
  2. Select the Apply button to show results.

To filter Customers by tags:

  1. From the Customers page, select any tag at the top of the page to use as a filter.
  2. Select the Apply button to show results.

Reporting by tags

For paid Kickserv accounts, we have two pre-built reports that return tagged information. For Standard plans and above, you can build a custom report to return specific data organized by tags.

Standard Reports for Tags:

  • Revenue by Tag: Summary
    • Find out how much money you make on jobs by how they're tagged in a summarized format.
  • Revenue by Tag: Detail
    • Find out how much money you make on jobs by how they're tagged in a detailed format.

Note: Because these reports are revenue based, they will only show completed Jobs with tags applied.
