We just made a significant addition to the Kickserv mobile application: the ability to take photos and add them as job attachments, without ever leaving the app. Here's how it works:
First, make sure you've upgraded to the latest version (3.6) of the app. You can find it on the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store. Go ahead and choose a job, and tap on the Attachments section. The first new thing you'll see is a "Take Photo" button in the lower right corner, next to the Choose From Library button that's been there all along.
Tapping on that button will (after asking for permission to access your camera) open up a familiar camera window. Once you snap a photo, you'll have the option to use it or retake it.
Tapping Use Photo will bring up a resize-and-crop screen so you can zoom in on a particular area if you like.
Tapping on Choose will bring you to the upload screen, where you can give your attachment a name, optionally share it with your customer, and tap Upload to save it.
Once your attachment is uploaded, it'll appear in the Attachments list, where you can swipe on it to edit or delete.
In addition to taking photos in-app, we've also added the ability to view PDFs on your mobile device.
If a job or customer has a PDF file attached, it will appear in the list of attachments. Tapping on it will bring up the thumbnail view and a View PDF button. You can swipe left or right in this view to see thumbnails of all the attachments.
Tap View PDF to bring up a view of the file's contents. You can pinch to zoom in and out and drag to pan around the document, just like you can a photo.
