When you drive your car, you have metrics that give you feedback. How fast you're going. How much fuel you have left. The coolant temperature. And so on. You monitor those to help you make decisions that will allow you to get from point A to point B.
In business, you need a dashboard. What are the key performance indicators that allow you to drive your business?
Think of them as a funnel.
- How do you get and manage leads, turn them into opportunities, close the deal, schedule the work, get 'er done, collect payment, solicit and get the review and most importantly follow up to make them a repeat customer again in the future.
- Do you set production quotas on those metrics?
- Do you go off of your gut feeling on how well or bad you are doing?
- Do you only manage off of cashflow?
Take the time to sit down and manage your business, stop coping and not knowing where you are.
Utilize every aspect of that funnel in Kickserv plot your numbers on a graph every week to see how you are doing. If you manage more long-term jobs then plot them monthly, or do both.
